Nolan O. Starnes

I was born Nolan Orenthal Starnes on June 18th, 1980. I had an AWESOME upbringing in the Parkwood Community and in the Metro Nashville Davidson County's Public School System in an era and generation when drug use and drug sales urban cities across the United States. This toxic culture ripped family's apart! In spite of growing up listening to Gangster Rap Music, I was very fortunate to have had a strong, loving, and heroic father in my life to give me the foundation that I needed to redeem my life.

In spring of 2003, while I was attending Volunteer State Community College working on my Emergency Medical Technician Certification, I was arrested for Carrying a Firearm During a Drug Traffiking Crime in Beaumont, TX. By summer of 2004 I was sentenced to serve 60 months in the Federal Bureau of Prison. After making it to the end of that EMT Program at Volunteer State Community College in 2003, I did not finish because I was so depressed about the crime I had committed. I knew I had screwed up, and I just wanted to start my life over. I was only 22 years of age when I made the biggest mistake of my life, and I knew that I could be redeemed if I could just educate myself and learn better. Throughout my prison term I read and learned as much information that I could. I grew spiritually, and learned a lot about myself through finding interest in history and science. Prison did not rehabilitate my life, but it was the choices that I made while I was in prison that rehabilitated my life! I made a commitment with God to come home and teach the youth everything that I was not taught growing up, which ultimately led to the mistake I made and the crime I committed. I was released from the FBOP in June 2008 and I that's when I founded the ALL-IN ALL STARZ, INC. YOUTH MENTORING / COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION. Since then, I have been fighting for youth, education, family, community, development, and also my very own redemption and the redemption of the city of Nashville. All of my qualifications, except my family accomplishments, were established after my release from prison over ten years ago, including being granted my full citizenship and voting rights. Mayor Karl Dean, and others did an awesome job establishing successful growth in Nashville. Nashville is a very diverse city now, but we have to bring toghether all of the different ethnicities and create one culture. I have a plan and a vision for Nashville that will take us to that next level, and the citizens of Nashville will be placed on the forefront of this reform. I am Nolan Starnes, and I approve this message!
